When schools sideline reading and math—the very skills that determine whether a child can succeed—and instead devote hours to teaching students to view America as fundamentally corrupt, the academic fallout is immediate. Proficiency scores in both subjects are already in crisis, yet classrooms are increasingly consumed by ideological lessons that do nothing to build competence. Children who can’t read fluently or perform basic math are being pushed through the system unprepared, not because they lack ability, but because adults have chosen politics over education. A nation cannot thrive when its schools abandon the basics.
This shift isn’t accidental. It is a deliberate redirection of the classroom away from knowledge and toward ideology, and the consequences for students’ intellectual development are severe.
