guidelines for posting and editorial approval

We welcome thoughtful, original pieces from everyday people who care about Kane County. Whether you're shining a light on a local issue, sharing a personal experience, or offering a bold opinion, we want to hear from you.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Local focus – Your piece should connect to Kane County or impact our community in some way.
  • Clear point of view – Tell us what you think and why it matters.
  • Respectful tone – Passion is welcome; personal attacks, hate speech, or discrimination are not.
  • Original content – Articles must be your own work and not published elsewhere.
  • Length – Aim for 400–800 words, but we’re flexible if the story’s strong.

Editorial Approval Process

  1. Submit your article using our form or email. Include your full name (or let us know if you prefer to publish anonymously) and any relevant links or context.
  2. Our editorial team will review each submission for clarity, relevance, and alignment with our community values.
  3. Once approved, your article will be published on our site and promoted through our channels.

We aim to review all submissions within 5–7 days. If you haven’t heard back in a week, feel free to follow up.
