Opportunity to Vote This Benefit on March 17th Primary Ballot

A "YES" vote ensures Illinois students can access the new Federal Scholarship Tax Credit program, which provides families with real academic support through scholarships funded by donor tax credits. These scholarships can be used for tutoring, reading and math help, educational therapies, books, online learning tools, and other essential services that help students catch up and thrive. It gives parents—not bureaucracies—the ability to choose the support that best fits their child’s needs.

This program benefits every type of learner across the state. Public school families can keep their children in their local school while receiving targeted academic help that districts often struggle to provide. Private school families gain access to scholarships that can help cover tuition or supplemental learning resources, making their chosen school more affordable. Homeschool families—who are often overlooked in state programs—can use funds for curriculum materials, specialized classes, tutoring, and enrichment tools that strengthen their home education.

Even though Kane County is not one of the counties voting on this measure, families here have a real stake in the outcome. If Illinois opts in, Kane County students will gain access to the same scholarship opportunities as students in participating counties. That’s why it’s important for Kane County families to spread the word and encourage friends and relatives in voting counties to support this measure. A YES vote anywhere in Illinois strengthens educational freedom everywhere in Illinois.
