When the federal government shut down and the Department of Education went dark, liberal media outlets and union leaders like Randi Weingarten rushed to declare disaster. They claimed schools would collapse and blamed President Trump for the chaos. But here in Kane County, parents saw the truth: schools kept running, teachers kept teaching, and students kept learning. The shutdown didn’t break education—it revealed how little Washington actually contributes to our classrooms. For decades, teachers unions and their allies in D.C. have insisted that states can’t manage education without federal oversight. But the shutdown proved otherwise. Funding for programs like Title I and IDEA continued to flow through established state-run systems. The Department of Education paused administrative tasks, not the actual learning. In reality, our schools are governed and funded locally, and the federal bureaucracy often adds more red tape than value. This moment is a wake-up call for parents in Kane County and across America. The Department of Education was born from a political deal, not a need for better schooling. Teachers unions have used it to push ideology and silence parents. But now, with federal interference temporarily out of the way, families are reclaiming control. The unions may panic, but we’ll keep doing what we’ve always done—supporting our kids, standing up for our values, and ensuring our schools reflect the priorities of our community. https://a57.foxnews.com/static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/content/uploads/2025/09/720/405/randi-weingarten-speaks-at-event.png?ve=1&tl=1
